Carbonita were furious when Denílson Zilles was red carded, 35 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Marcinho Carvalho placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Roger Lima stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nestor Abraão's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Roger Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Serafim de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo de Almeida having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Arí Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo de Almeida having to interfere. Nestor Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Roger Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
