Armindo Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Rocha in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute, Belchior Vasconcelos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Albertino Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Rocha in the 10th minute of play forced Paraibao EC's goalkeeper Armindo Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luiz Fabiano Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belchior Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albertino Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armindo Gomes came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by REAL IMPERIAL EC's Samuel Rocha. But to his dismay, Samuel Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 25th minute Umberto Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Armindo Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Samuel Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Samuel Rocha made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for REAL IMPERIAL EC. Arí Berger stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Armindo Gomes. 0-2. Armindo Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Armindo Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Rocha in the 61st minute of play. REAL IMPERIAL EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Umberto Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armindo Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Armindo Gomes managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when REAL IMPERIAL EC's Umberto Alves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78th minute Albertino Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Samuel Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. REAL IMPERIAL EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Paraibao EC's Ramón Medeiros got a free kick in the 90th minute. When REAL IMPERIAL EC's Samuel Rocha in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paraibao EC's goalie prevented a goal. The REAL IMPERIAL EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing REAL IMPERIAL EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
