After a rather tough play, AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's Cícero Carneiro got a free kick in the 8th minute. A collision led to Carmelopolis getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Gerson Souza hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Carmelopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Mendonça came free, but Gilberto Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Augusto da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Amauri Munhoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerson Souza's late challenge caught a AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Noel Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the AtLéTiCo GaLvAn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Mendonça couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Noel Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stathis Lolos got free with Gilberto Valladares in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of AtLéTiCo GaLvAn booed when Carmelopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Carmelopolis's Gilberto Valladares got control of the ball when Stathis Lolos tried to sneak it across the goal line.
