When Noel Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the AtLéTiCo GaLvAn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Mendonça couldn't finish the play. After 23 minutes, Vitinho Barral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AtLéTiCo GaLvAn and the Itapui players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vitinho Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 31 played minutes AtLéTiCo GaLvAn got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Barral. Alfredo Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Chiquinho Vargas came free in the 43rd minute and tried to tip the ball over Alfredo Trigo, but to the joy of Itapui's supporters the ball went over. Amauri Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Noel Mendonça to make the kick off. Amauri Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Joaquim Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes AtLéTiCo GaLvAn got a freekick which was hit by Charles de Azevedo. After a rather tough play, Itapui's Luís Fábio Brasil got a free kick in the 65th minute. Dagoberto Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amauri Munhoz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. AtLéTiCo GaLvAn made a substitution. Wilian Marinho replaced Chiquinho Vargas. AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's Josué Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Itapui's Vânderson Cordeiro suffered a sore thigh after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Charles de Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles de Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to AtLéTiCo GaLvAn getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Charles de Azevedo hit a great ball. The long shot by Romário Castro in the 81st minute really tested Amauri Munhoz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Charles de Azevedo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. Charles de Azevedo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Jan Dara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match AtLéTiCo GaLvAn got a corner. Itapui's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jan Dara ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's corner Jan Dara fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfredo Trigo quite easily take care of the ball. Kauã Pereira charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kauã Pereira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of AtLéTiCo GaLvAn booed when Itapui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauã Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Mendonça in the 95th minute of play forced Itapui's goalkeeper Alfredo Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
