Kauã Pereira's late challenge caught a Carmelopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kauã Pereira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th match minute, Itapui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauã Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Augusto da Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Trigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joaquim Salgado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilton Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Alfredo Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Joaquim Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded.
