Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Umberto de Mendonça started the match with the kick off. Umberto de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Paulinho Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Galvao's Marquinhos Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Amaral in the 18th minute of play. Zacarias Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Valério Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute of the match Elder Corrêa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marquinhos Brasil skillfully saved the ball. After 24 played minutes Galvao got a freekick which was hit by Valério Pimenta. If Luiz Eduardo Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Galvao's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Senna came free, but Marquinhos Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Itaobi booed when Galvao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes, Itaobi's Elder Corrêa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marquinhos Brasil came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itaobi reached it. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zacarias Senna was the one to do the kick off. Marquinhos Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Senna in the 56th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Itaobi's Manuel Bastos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Manuel Bastos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Itaobi protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Manuel Bastos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 62nd minute, one of Itaobi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itaobi. The excitement rose when Galvao's Hélio Cruz after 65 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Itaobi's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-0. Vito Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Brasil having to interfere. Marquinhos Brasil acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Valério Palmeira. Bruno de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th match minute, Itaobi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Lucas to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Umberto de Mendonça in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulinho Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 87 played minutes Itaobi got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Albuquerque. A collision led to Itaobi getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Zacarias Senna hit a great ball. Vito Amaral scored 2-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marquinhos Brasil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Galvao fans cheered their team off the field, for while Itaobi had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
