Arabela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guariuba the free kick. After 19 played minutes Arabela got a freekick which was hit by Válter Furtado. Cipriano Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Zonta in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute, one of Guariuba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guariuba. The goalkeeper, Tomé Faustino, was totally fooled by Arabela's Luís Fábio Palmeira, who 26 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 30 minutes into the match, Arabela's goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Zonta came free, but Cipriano Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cipriano Catarinense came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Guariuba's Nilmar Zonta. But to his dismay, Nilmar Zonta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Cipriano Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Nilmar Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Guariuba's zone, André Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomé Faustino came out of the goal and André Jacinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39thth minute of the game Luiz Guilherme Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guariuba's Tomé Faustino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Álvaro Souza hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Guariuba's Armando Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Tomé Faustino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Jacinto in the 53rd minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Guariuba's Armando Schmidt got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Luiz Guilherme Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 66 minutes into the match, Luiz Guilherme Diniz notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Guariuba's Tomé Faustino. Tomé Faustino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 69th minute Luiz Guilherme Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Faustino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Guilherme Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Arabela booed when Guariuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball.
