The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Caetano Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celsinho Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caetano Loureiro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 10th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, Filadelfia EC's Silas França got a free kick in the 14th minute. Filadelfia EC's Hélio Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rômulo Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Filadelfia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Loureiro came free, but Celsinho Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rômulo Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Cabral having to interfere. In the 30th minute Hélio Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélio Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dinei Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dinei Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dênis Santos in the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 42 minutes, Caetano Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragões de Tchó Tchó's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Hélio Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Filadelfia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélio Brodel couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dênis Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Gustavo Campidelis charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Gustavo Campidelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Filadelfia EC booed when Dragões de Tchó Tchó was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Campidelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Adalberto Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 59 minutes, Rômulo Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 92nd minute, Rômulo Mangueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dragões de Tchó Tchó's Caetano Loureiro got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
