Celsinho Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Lara in the 4th minute of the match. Roger Moraes hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Filadelfia EC's Dênis Santos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nelson Lima. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Filadelfia EC's zone, Sérgio Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Cabral came out of the goal and Sérgio Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 37 played minutes Filadelfia EC got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Cavalcante. Josefina's William Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When William Carvalho got free in front of the goal in the 41st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Celsinho Cabral was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Filadelfia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Lara came free, but Celsinho Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Sérgio Lara made the kick off in the second half. Marquinhos Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Celsinho Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Carvalho got free with Celsinho Cabral in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 61 minutes into the match, Filadelfia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Lara came free, but Celsinho Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Samuel Moreno put in a rough tackle. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Filadelfia EC! Hélio Brodel struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Nelson Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Filadelfia EC. Celsinho Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silas França kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Filadelfia EC's Celsinho Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Carvalho in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Hélio Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celsinho Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Lara in the 87th minute of play. William Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Celsinho Cabral made a huge save. In the 96th minute Sérgio Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Filadelfia EC getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Dênis Santos hit a great ball.
