After 7 played minutes Lajinha SS got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Sampaio. After a defensive mix-up in Counani's zone, Dedê Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Pires came out of the goal and Dedê Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ulisses Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezequiel Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Mineiro in the 18th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nildo Lira during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lajinha SS booed when Counani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê Mineiro couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedê Mineiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Ezequiel Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Quaresma, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The supporters of Counani booed when Lajinha SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Borges didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 74th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Ezequiel Pires was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Counani succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Lajinha SS had controlled the match.
