Carlos Eduardo Carioca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnaldo Bastos went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 11 minutes into the match, Denílson Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Eduardo Carioca. Terreiro SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Denílson Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 16th minute, Arnaldo Bastos made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Eduardo Carioca. Terreiro SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 19th minute Arnaldo Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denílson Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Romário da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Vágner Loyola fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nilson Souza, passed just outside the right post. Carlos Eduardo Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Rodrigues in the 34th minute of play. Cristian Meirelles hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Carlos Eduardo Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denílson Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Denílson Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Bastos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Eduardo Carioca. Terreiro SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo Bastos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. If Arnaldo Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário da Costa to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dudu Carioca during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st minute, Dudu Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilson Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! 62 minutes into the game, Moipora FC's Arnaldo Bastos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Eduardo Carioca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Rodrigues in the 67th minute of play forced Terreiro SC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Terreiro SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Denílson Rodrigues 69 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. With his leg Carlos Eduardo Carioca managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Moipora FC's Arnaldo Bastos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Denílson Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moipora FC's protests and gave Denílson Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moipora FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Denílson Rodrigues hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Terreiro SC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Bastos. The supporters of Moipora FC booed when Terreiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vágner Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Denílson Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dudu Carioca got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 96 played minutes Moipora FC got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Carioca. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Moipora FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
