Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dudu Carioca hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the match, Moipora FC's goalkeeper Nilson Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelsinho Nascimento. Denílson Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Erasmo Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Criciuma's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Rodrigues came free, but Erasmo Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes Criciuma's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wellington Almeida who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Bastos in the 37th minute of play forced Criciuma's goalkeeper Erasmo Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Moipora FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilton Pontes to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Wilton Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moipora FC's Denílson Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Dráuzio Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Reinaldo de Castro fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moipora FC's protests and gave Reinaldo de Castro a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Arnaldo Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moipora FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moipora FC's Nilson Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Pontes in the 71st minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Moipora FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Nascimento came free, but Nilson Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilson Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Hermes in the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Wilton Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Criciuma's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilton Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
