After 16 minutes, Agostinho Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calheiros and the Paranapolis AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paranapolis AD's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Frédson Massa 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After having played for 22 minutes, Cícero Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calheiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cícero Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agostinho Pontes hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. A hard shot 38 in the game by Cícero Simões from a close distance when the talented Kléberson Bittencourt managed to make a qualified save. Paranapolis AD's players were relieved. Fernão Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes in the game, Frédson Massa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kléberson Bittencourt having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 75th minute, Agostinho Pontes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calheiros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Donato Salgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Ulysses Moreno made a huge save. Cícero Simões struck a weak shot in the 96th minute.
