Zorgetz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Muriae EC the free kick. A collision led to Zorgetz getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Pedro Valladares hit a great ball. Raphael Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raí Freire during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Zorgetz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Freire to maneuver through the defense. Muriae EC's Kauan Velloso got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute of the match, Raphael Souza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valdir Miranda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 23 played minutes Zorgetz got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Macedo. If Adrianinho Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute of the match Kauan Velloso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdir Miranda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Cesinha de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiaguinho Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Raí Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tiaguinho Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes Muriae EC got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Porto. The supporters of Zorgetz booed when Muriae EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Muriae EC's zone, Pedro Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Hermes came out of the goal and Pedro Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raí Freire couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
