Telmo Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa's Telmo Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Nogueira in the 7th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Pedro Luís Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luís Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robinho Proença breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th match minute, Salobense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Barros to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Dionísio in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Vinhas saved Costa from getting behind. When Gustavo Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa's protests and gave Gustavo Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Costa got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Moreno. In the 27th minute of the match Flavinho Gomes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Telmo Vinhas skillfully saved the ball. In the 29thth minute of the game Victor Dionísio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa's Telmo Vinhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Costa's Carlinhos Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Nogueira hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Victor Dionísio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Salobense FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Victor Dionísio might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Vinhas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Dionísio ran back to his position shaking his head. If Victor Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

53 minutes into the match, Costa's goal looked a bit too open when Vânderson Lopes came free, but Telmo Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Daniel Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Costa's Carlinhos Quintal in the 91st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Robinho Proença was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Salobense FC through an amazing save. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Victor Dionísio put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Telmo Vinhas. Costa succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Salobense FC had controlled the match.
