The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fiori Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Freire in the 5th minute of play forced Pinheirinho's goalkeeper Célio Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldão Medeiros came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Pinheirinho's Wanderson Baptista. But to his dismay, Wanderson Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, Tabauna's Cafu Nunes got a free kick in the 13th minute. Célio Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fiori Mesquita in the 16th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Digo da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinheirinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Digo da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Pinheirinho booed when Tabauna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wanderson Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tabauna getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Digo Dias hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Digo da Silva in the 32nd minute of play forced Tabauna's goalkeeper Ronaldão Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Tabauna's goalkeeper Ronaldão Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wanderson Baptista. In the 40th minute of the match Pinheirinho got a corner. Tabauna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gláuber Andrade ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Pinheirinho's corner Gláuber Andrade fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ronaldão Medeiros quite easily take care of the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Digo da Silva recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronaldão Medeiros. Digo da Silva showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0.

The wind increased when Digo da Silva made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Wanderson Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Wanderson Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinheirinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fiori Mesquita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Célio Palmeira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 67th minute, Dé Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Cafu Nunes had to leave the field with a concussion. Reginaldo Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Tabauna's Dé Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Wanderson Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinheirinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wanderson Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Medeiros having to interfere. Ronaldão Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Digo da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Digo da Silva made a precise shot to the right of Ronaldão Medeiros. Tabauna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 85th minute, Digo da Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldão Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Digo da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hílton Eger during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hílton Eger hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Adrianinho Amaral hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. If Dé Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tabauna's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
