The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Erik Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diamantino Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rubens Vasconcelos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Erik Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mocha AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute of the match, Falcão Azevedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rubens Vasconcelos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Gaúcho in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Vasconcelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rubens Vasconcelos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Quadros in the 38th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Gaúcho made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Tony Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Joaquim Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 58 minutes, Joaquim Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 74 minutes of play, Ferraz FC's Joaquim Gaúcho made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubens Vasconcelos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th match minute, Mocha AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Quintal to maneuver through the defense. Tiago Gabriel Cearense was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Gaúcho in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Vasconcelos saved Mocha AD from getting behind. Elano Tróia charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elano Tróia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Mocha AD got a freekick which was hit by Elano Tróia. Joaquim Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rubens Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rubens Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute.
