Ivar Hellbom started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, I p a u s s u e n s s e was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Pacovalinho's Sebastião de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, I p a u s s u e n s s e's Gláuber Tepedino got a free kick in the 5th minute. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Damião in the 16th minute of play. Ivar Hellbom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Falcão Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Falcão Gerber managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when I p a u s s u e n s s e's Ivar Hellbom fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 21 minutes, Doriva Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the I p a u s s u e n s s e and the Pacovalinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to I p a u s s u e n s s e getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Doriva Cunha hit a great ball. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Simão in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Simão in the 28th minute of play forced I p a u s s u e n s s e's goalkeeper Leonel Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when Délio Cosme came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião de Azevedo in the 32nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, I p a u s s u e n s s e's Falcão Gerber threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gláuber Tepedino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Leonel Teixeira came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Pacovalinho's Cipriano Simão. But to his dismay, Cipriano Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cipriano Simão to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Ivar Hellbom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The I p a u s s u e n s s e fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 60thth minute of the game Ivar Hellbom who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pacovalinho's Falcão Gerber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute Cipriano Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, I p a u s s u e n s s e's Doriva Cunha got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 76th minute Cipriano Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonel Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Falcão Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Hellbom, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 88 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goalkeeper Leonel Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastião de Azevedo. When the final whistle sounded Pacovalinho left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than I p a u s s u e n s s e.
