Adrianinho Vergílio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Falcão Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After 37 minutes, Tibúrcio Castro made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pacovalinho's Falcão Gerber tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. But to his dismay, Sebastião de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.
