The Carnaubal fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Carnaubal's Kaká Paraibano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hílton Vieira took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Eduardo Linares. Carlos Eduardo Linares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Felippe Reis charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felippe Reis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felippe Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Hílton Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Carlos Eduardo Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cachirimbu's Hílton Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Eduardo Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murillo Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erasmo Lopes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Cachirimbu's Murillo Azevedo in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hílton Vieira got free with Carlos Eduardo Linares in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Murillo Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
