A collision led to Nhunguacu getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Norberto Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Velloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Edgar dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Queiroz in the 18th minute of the match. Nhunguacu's Edgar dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Queiroz in the 20th minute of play. After 20 minutes of play Nhunguacu's Perivaldo Nunes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 21st match minute, Nhunguacu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Nunes to maneuver through the defense. Gonçalo de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Edgar dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonçalo de Queirós scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgar dos Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th match minute, Varjao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Tande to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Varjao's Richard Queiroz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar dos Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 minutes, Delfim Dante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varjao and the Nhunguacu players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes Varjao got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Dante. In the 69th minute, Varjao's Richard Queiroz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Norberto Seco sped through Varjao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Durval Velloso. Cristian Braga hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo de Queirós got free with Edgar dos Santos in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th match minute, Varjao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Richard Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
