A very good chance. Durval Velloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgílio do Valle's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Durval Velloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibirajuba. When Richard Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Varjao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Queiroz couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richard Queiroz to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ibirajuba's Ciro Sena got a free kick in the 55th minute. Ibirajuba's Natã Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Queiroz in the 58th minute of play. Varjao's Gonçalo de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute Gonçalo de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natã Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durval Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Gonçalo de Queirós notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ibirajuba's Natã Botelho. Natã Botelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 73 minutes into the match, Varjao's goalkeeper Durval Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Eduardo Coelho. Durval Velloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 80 minutes into the match, Ibirajuba's Virgílio do Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durval Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Luiz Eduardo Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 93 minutes, Gonçalo de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varjao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo de Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
