Zacarias de Almeida's late challenge caught a Toledo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toledo's Marcelo Travassos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Silvério Neves in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Renato da Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. Toledo's Paulo Renato da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
