Rafael Mottas short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Percy Lago to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tarcisio Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Ramalho having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Macarani's Romário de Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisão Ramalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tarcisio Toscano struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Luisão Ramalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macarani. Paulo Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Lago having to interfere. When Juninho de Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Macarani's protests and gave Juninho de Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Macarani got a freekick which was hit by Juninho de Amaral. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tarcisio Toscano made a kick off. Rafael Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Lago having to interfere. In the 76thth minute of the game Paulo Tande who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Macarani's Percy Lago was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Macarani's Romário de Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Macarani's Percy Lago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Motta in the 80th minute of play. Tarcisio Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Ramalho having to interfere. Descalvado's Rafael Motta got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute Rafael Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Percy Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Tande in the 88th minute of play. After 93 minutes, Paulo Tande made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Macarani's Percy Lago tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
