Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Itagiba's Dedé Azevedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dedé Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavinho Pontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. After 7 minutes, Miguel Bastos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cacabu AD and the Itagiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Miguel Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Itagiba's zone, Amílton Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovani Chaves came out of the goal and Amílton Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cacabu AD's Flavinho Pontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Cacabu AD from getting a goal against them. Dedé Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Pontes having to interfere. When Valdemar Torres came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Cacabu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdemar Torres couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Itagiba's Franklin Leal got a free kick in the 30th minute. The supporters of Cacabu AD booed when Itagiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacabu AD were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Itagiba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Flávio Pontes took the corner. The corner led Cacabu AD's Flávio Pontes to fire away a dangerous shot which Geovani Chaves despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Valdemar Torres got free in front of the goal in the 39th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Geovani Chaves was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Itagiba's Nuno Passos got a free kick in the 40th minute. Geovani Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Torres in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 46th match minute, Itagiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Passos to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Flávio Dante fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cacabu AD's protests and gave Flávio Dante a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cacabu AD! Amílton Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geovani Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dedé Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, one of Cacabu AD:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Itagiba a penalty, 76 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rui da Rocha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cacabu AD's Flavinho Pontes. 2-0. Celso Pitta might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovani Chaves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celso Pitta ran back to his position shaking his head. After 89 played minutes, Itagiba's Rui da Rocha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Flavinho Pontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itagiba reached it. Cacabu AD's Amílton Breckenfeld got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Jaime Alvarenga fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Geovani Chaves, passed just outside the right post. 96 minutes into the match, Itagiba's goalkeeper Geovani Chaves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amílton Breckenfeld. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cacabu AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Itagiba.
