Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Guga Pena kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Nova Descoberta - RN's Geraldo Cruz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 7th minute, Nova Descoberta - RN's Magno Pinheiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Betão Toscano. Betão Toscano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Agostinho Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Goiano in the 11th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Magno Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Descoberta - RN's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Pinheiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Magno Pinheiro put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Betão Toscano. Agostinho Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Pena in the 23rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Magno Pinheiro put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Betão Toscano. The Nova Descoberta - RN fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Nova Descoberta - RN's Magno Pinheiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 34th minute, Aruaja's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Benjamim Varela fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Agostinho Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Pena in the 36th minute of the match. Betão Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Varela in the 38th minute of play. Nova Descoberta - RN were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Aruaja's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Israel Segundo took the corner. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Pinheiro to make the kick off. The supporters of Nova Descoberta - RN booed when Aruaja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Betão Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Nova Descoberta - RN's André Luís de Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Betão Toscano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Betão Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Magno Pinheiro's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Magno Pinheiro put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Betão Toscano. Magno Pinheiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betão Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Aruaja's João Paulo Gaspar got a free kick in the 67th minute. After having played for 69 minutes, Benjamim Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Descoberta - RN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamim Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Betão Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Varela in the 71st minute of the match. Nova Descoberta - RN's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Israel Segundo in the 73rd minute. Israel Segundo made a great header on Nova Descoberta - RN's corner, it was just that Aruaja's Betão Toscano managed to reach the ball for a save. Magno Pinheiro hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Nova Descoberta - RN's Magno Pinheiro fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal, but it hit the crossbar and went out into the crowd. After 79 minutes, Magno Pinheiro made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. Aruaja's Betão Toscano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Betão Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamim Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Magno Pinheiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Betão Toscano. Aruaja's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Magno Pinheiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamim Varela in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betão Toscano saved Aruaja from getting behind. Nova Descoberta - RN walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
