Celso Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Durvalino de Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Avatarnense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino de Amorim couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the game, Cacá Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trombetas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avatarnense the free kick. A collision led to Trombetas getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Cacá Leal hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Trombetas's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Varela came free, but Celso Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Edmundo Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Galvão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 19 played minutes Avatarnense got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Varela. Trombetas's Celso Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Varela in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute of the match João Carlos Campidelis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso Galvão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Edmundo Varela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celso Galvão. Trombetas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Varela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 35th match minute, Avatarnense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Peres to maneuver through the defense. Celso Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Trombetas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Avatarnense were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Varela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdo Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléberson Brodel in the 51st minute of play. Celso Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adriano Pinheiro in the 54th minute. Celso Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. João Carlos Campidelis scored 0-4 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celso Galvão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adriano Pinheiro got free with Celso Galvão in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th minute of the match, Adriano Pinheiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Celso Galvão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edmundo Varela received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Celso Galvão came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmundo Varela slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 85th minute. Hélder Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
