E.C BAHIA's Rubens de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Meira in the 5th minute of play. Rubens de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas Vargas in the 7th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Domingues in the 20th minute of play forced Russe Athletic's goalkeeper Eurico de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Russe Athletic's Cipriano Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Hortêncio Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C BAHIA's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eurico de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rubens de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Rubens de Castro came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Russe Athletic's Patrick Meira. But to his dismay, Patrick Meira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 28 minutes into the match, E.C BAHIA's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Meira came free, but Rubens de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cipriano Duarte's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Rubens de Castro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of E.C BAHIA booed when Russe Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beniamin Skaradowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cipriano Duartes short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Rubens de Castro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 43 minutes of play, Russe Athletic's Cipriano Duarte made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubens de Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cipriano Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Eurico de Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Mendonça in the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cipriano Duarte made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Duarte in the 51st minute of play forced E.C BAHIA's goalkeeper Rubens de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Meira in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of E.C BAHIA booed when Russe Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horácio Domingues's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eurico de Godoi firmly grabbed it by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as E.C BAHIA's Horácio Domingues slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eurico de Godoi. That made the score 3-1 after 56 minutes of play. When Russe Athletic's Cipriano Duarte in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E.C BAHIA's goalie prevented a goal. If Patrick Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens de Castro having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, E.C BAHIA's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Duarte came free, but Rubens de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cipriano Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens de Castro having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, one of E.C BAHIA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for E.C BAHIA. In the 79thth minute of the game Cipriano Duarte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C BAHIA's Rubens de Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rafa Salles hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After 86 played minutes, Russe Athletic's Guto Leão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubens de Castro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Russe Athletic reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cipriano Duarte in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Patrick Meira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens de Castro was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Meira in the 97th minute of play forced E.C BAHIA's goalkeeper Rubens de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
