Monte Cristo EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Augusto Donatello who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Ademar Fontes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. São Paulo FC's Ademar Fontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo FC from getting a goal against them. If Deivid Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. São Paulo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Zé Roberto Velasco scored to the left of an out of position Ademar Fontes, making the score, 2-0. Marian Lodowy took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ademar Fontes. Ademar Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Ademar Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Fărcașu in the 41st minute of play. Marian Lodowy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ademar Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Ademar Fontes made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Zé Roberto Velasco sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cosmin Fărcașu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Monte Cristo EC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Cosmin Fărcașu hit a great ball. When Marcinho Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the São Paulo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Carvalho couldn't finish the play. Zé Roberto Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the São Paulo FC defense, Marian Lodowy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ademar Fontes. The São Paulo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ademar Fontes should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute, Rodriguinho de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
