An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrekur Hákonsson in the 29th minute of play forced Clube Atletico Guarulhos's goalkeeper Humberto Lastur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Discovery booed when Clube Atletico Guarulhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ortiz Enderica didn't get a good kick on the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristóvão Alvarenga made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Clube Atletico Guarulhos's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter do Valle came free, but Humberto Lastur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, one of Clube Atletico Guarulhos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Clube Atletico Guarulhos:s Humberto Lastur showed great skill when he stopped Michalis Villas:s penalty. Humberto Lastur was a little too slow when Michalis Villas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-2. If Cristóvão Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Discovery defense, Rafa Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godfredo Teodor. The Discovery fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godfredo Teodor should have stopped the shot. But to his dismay, Doni da Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Humberto Lastur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter do Valle in the 97th minute of play. Clube Atletico Guarulhos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 100th minute, when Gualter do Valle scored to the left of an out of position Humberto Lastur, making the score, 1-6. Discovery's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
