The supporters of Manguaça FC booed when Flamengo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esbjörn Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Flamengo FC's Christian Fantini got a free kick in the 17th minute. Serginho Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Cearense in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Flamengo FC booed when Manguaça FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 minutes of play, Manguaça FC's Victor da Silva made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Serginho Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulino Sacristán in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Goito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 29 minutes into the match, Flamengo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Novaes came free, but Serginho Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Christian Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 36 minutes, Christian Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Fantini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nando Dionísio hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Flamengo FC's Christian Fantini got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Goito was a little too slow when Paulino Sacristán got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 1-2. The Flamengo FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Manguaça FC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Matías Novaes made the kick off in the second half. Nando Dionísio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Serginho Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nando Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Flamengo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Novaes came free, but Serginho Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With splendid footwork Matías Novaes arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-3 by the left pole in the game's 68th minute. After taking down the ball on Flamengo FC's corner Francisco Macedo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniel Goito quite easily take care of the ball. Flamengo FC's Serginho Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cearense in the 74th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano Valladares during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Manguaça FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Valladares to maneuver through the defense. Flamengo FC's Manoel Proença suffered a concussion in the 82nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Enrique Cearense charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enrique Cearense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Manguaça FC got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Cearense. After 87 minutes of play Manguaça FC's Enrique Cearense was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Manguaça FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Enrique Cearense hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Nando Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flamengo FC's Serginho Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nando Dionísio got free with Serginho Azevedo in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
