Natanael Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Porto having to interfere. Evandro Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Estrela Azul FC were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Atlético Piauiense's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Donato Souza took the corner. 28 minutes into the match, Renatinho de Sousa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Estrela Azul FC's Nicolas Loyola. Nicolas Loyola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Evandro Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Evandro Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Estrela Azul FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Cunha couldn't finish the play. When Natanael Fontes fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estrela Azul FC's protests and gave Natanael Fontes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute Cleiton Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Cauan Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estrela Azul FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauan Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulisses Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ulisses Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natanael Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cauan Antunes was the one to do the kick off. If Fabrício Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Inácio Sergipano took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Nicolas Loyola to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Piauiense's zone, Cauan Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses Porto came out of the goal and Cauan Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute, Cacá Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulisses Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cauan Antunes in the 68th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 3-3 when Cauan Antunes sped through Atlético Piauiense's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ulisses Porto. Cauan Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Estrela Azul FC fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Estrela Azul FC's Cauan Antunes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ulisses Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauan Antunes in the 89th minute of play. Ulisses Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cauan Antunes's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Atlético Piauiense succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Estrela Azul FC had controlled the match.
