An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Borges in the 6th minute of play forced BEST FABIO F.C.'s goalkeeper Ruy Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Horácio Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the BEST FABIO F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Pombal couldn't finish the play. Horácio Pombal succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in EC Caucaia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! In the 16th minute there was a penalty for BEST FABIO F.C.. Rômulo dos Santos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Claudinho Abreu. 0-2. In the 19th minute Horácio Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Matorin in the 20th minute of the match. Emerson Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Abreu having to interfere. If Horácio Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 36 minutes in the game, Vânderson Borges dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 38th minute, Celsinho Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of BEST FABIO F.C. booed when EC Caucaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emerson Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Claudinho Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vânderson Borges to make the kick off. Claudinho Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horácio Pombal in the 51st minute of play. When Luiz Eduardo Prado fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BEST FABIO F.C.'s protests and gave Luiz Eduardo Prado a yellow card for diving instead. Luiz Eduardo Prado hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, EC Caucaia's Carlos Madureira tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Vânderson Borges left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC Caucaia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. A collision led to EC Caucaia getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Hílton Palmeira hit a great ball. Emerson Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Abreu having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. BEST FABIO F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
