Rômulo Carvalho hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Dida de Azevedo hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 23 minutes, Emiliano Distiratsu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rapid SA and the Sem Esperança players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sem Esperança booed when Rapid SA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Distiratsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Rapid SA's Daffa Pangkali got a free kick in the 27th minute. Reynaldo Souza came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Sem Esperança's Julian Klæboe. But to his dismay, Julian Klæboe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 45 minutes, Afonso Passos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sem Esperança and the Rapid SA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sem Esperança fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! Sem Esperança's Marcos de Almeida was substituted for Leopoldo Lira. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

56 minutes into the match, Sem Esperança's goal looked a bit too open when Vlajko Marotić came free, but Artur da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artur da Cunha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rômulo Carvalho went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After 77 played minutes Sem Esperança got a freekick which was hit by Dida de Azevedo. Rapid SA's Eliézer de Senna was substituted for Rômulo Carvalho. In the 88th match minute, Sem Esperança was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelino Maldini to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 93 minutes, Máximo Branca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sem Esperança's supporters crossed their fingers, but Máximo Branca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rapid SA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
