Cássio Meirelles made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Reginaldo Trevisan immediately put the ball in play. The supporters of Sem Esperança booed when G5 FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cássio Meirelles hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sem Esperança's Ingemar Persson was substituted for Pašo Bolas. Sem Esperança made a substitution. Máximo Branca replaced Julian Klæboe. The wind increased when Marcelo Zanette made the kick off in the second half. Sem Esperança's Afonso Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the G5 FUTEBOL CLUBE defense, Máximo Branca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evaristo Vander. The G5 FUTEBOL CLUBE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evaristo Vander should have stopped the shot. Evaristo Vander stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Máximo Branca's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Máximo Branca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sem Esperança's supporters rose to their feet, but Máximo Branca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
