The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgar de Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Figueirense FC - FSCMZ defense, Dawoud Faraj kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgar de Queiroz. The Figueirense FC - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgar de Queiroz should have stopped the shot. But to his dismay, Dawoud Faraj quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Edgar de Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Simões in the 46th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Adolfo Araújo was the one to do the kick off. Ricky Blake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenílson de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute Hugo Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilmar Recife during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gilmar Recife hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Dawoud Faraj could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Edgar de Queiroz however easily saved by the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Trem das Onze's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Araújo came free, but Ricky Blake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trem das Onze's Ricky Blake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson de Alcântara in the 79th minute of play. Dawoud Faraj could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Edgar de Queiroz made a huge save. Ricky Blake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Adolfo Araújo in the 88th minute of the match. Lenílson de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Ricky Blake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Figueirense FC - FSCMZ. After a rather tough play, Figueirense FC - FSCMZ's Sílvio Luís Lopez got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
