The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Rendenção EC's Arlindo Aguiar got control of the ball when Perivaldo Dias tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 5th minute, Perivaldo Dias fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 9 minutes into the match, Mané Saraiva notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Minotauro's Edgard Marques. Edgard Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 13th match minute, Rendenção EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Arlindo Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Perivaldo Dias sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Proença in the 16th minute of play forced Rendenção EC's goalkeeper Arlindo Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Saraiva in the 18th minute of play forced Minotauro's goalkeeper Edgard Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arlindo Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Perivaldo Dias in the 20th minute. Perivaldo Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Arlindo Aguiar made a huge save. Edgard Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademir Falcão in the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Minotauro booed when Rendenção EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mané Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgard Marques didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mané Saraiva went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the game, Rui Koehler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Edgard Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rui Koehler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Marques having to interfere. Perivaldo Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Arlindo Aguiar made a huge save. Minotauro's Edgard Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Saldanha in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Rendenção EC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Edgard Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mané Saraiva in the 54th minute. Minotauro's Edgard Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex da Silva in the 55th minute of play. Arlindo Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Dias in the 57th minute of the match. Edgard Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademir Falcão, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Arlindo Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Dias in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Minotauro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Recife to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fabiano Saldanha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edgard Marques firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 72nd minute, Perivaldo Dias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Aguiar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Perivaldo Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arlindo Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Dias in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute Minotauro were awarded a corner. Silvério Lima went to the cornerflag to take it. Silvério Lima was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 82nd minute Mané Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mané Saraiva got free with Edgard Marques in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edgard Marques didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 87th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. In the 91st minute Mané Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, Rendenção EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo José Camargo to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the game, Luizão Proença threw the ball into play from the sideline. Minotauro's Kaká Recife quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Kaká Recife scored 2-4 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arlindo Aguiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Rendenção EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
