Fiori Novaes's late challenge caught a Tormenta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fiori Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Baía do Penhasco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Novaes to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Baía do Penhasco's goalkeeper Frédson Passos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Martens. Fiori Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Magno de Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Dedé Paulista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Baía do Penhasco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tormenta the free kick. A collision led to Baía do Penhasco getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Dedé Paulista hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Tormenta's Flavio Rocchi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frédson Passos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Baía do Penhasco's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Refik Özgeer came free, but Frédson Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fiori Novaes hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Fiori Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Magno de Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Osvaldinho Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Tormenta's Frédson Passos threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ahmet Refik Özgeer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ahmet Refik Özgeer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frédson Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Cabral in the 41st minute of the match. When Arnaldo Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Baía do Penhasco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Baía do Penhasco's Frédson Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Refik Özgeer in the 46th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnaldo Montenegro to strike the kick off in the second half. Osvaldinho Peres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Magno de Senna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Luizão Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frédson Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Martens, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 66th minute, Arnaldo Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Magno de Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Tormenta's Adilson Brito was substituted for Flavio Rocchi. Tormenta's Borys Bentkowski was substituted for Leo Martens. After 70 played minutes Baía do Penhasco got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Cordeiro. When João Vítor Arce fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tormenta's protests and gave João Vítor Arce a yellow card for diving instead. Baía do Penhasco's Frédson Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Cabral in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Baía do Penhasco's Osvaldinho Peres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Ahmet Refik Özgeer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Passos having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Baía do Penhasco's Luizão Barros got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute Ciro Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Borys Bentkowski in the 96th minute of play forced Baía do Penhasco's goalkeeper Frédson Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Baía do Penhasco eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
