Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 7 minutes into the match, SL Benfica's Carlos Alberto Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrézinho Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SL Benfica's Vicente Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lúcio Pombal sped through Dois Irmãos F. C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Andrézinho Pinheiro. In the 14th minute Vicente Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Vicente Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the SL Benfica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Barreto couldn't finish the play. Samuca Luz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrézinho Pinheiro having to make a save. Lúcio Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Andrézinho Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Lúcio Pombal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrézinho Pinheiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 29 played minutes SL Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Augusto de Barros. Joélson Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the match, SL Benfica's goalkeeper Isac Cândrea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joélson Nóbrega. If Zézinho Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Pires took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrézinho Pinheiro. Andrézinho Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 39 minutes into the game, Vicente Barreto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Andrézinho Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. SL Benfica's Lúcio Pombal suffered a concussion in the 44th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Edmílson Tavares's late challenge caught a SL Benfica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmílson Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. SL Benfica made a substitution. Alfredão de Sena replaced Lúcio Pombal. Edmílson Tavares hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Zézinho Azevedo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dois Irmãos F. C.'s Andrézinho Pinheiro didn't even have to move. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The wind increased when Vicente Barreto made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match SL Benfica got a corner. Dois Irmãos F. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zézinho Azevedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dois Irmãos F. C.'s Ezequiel Ramos suffered a sore foot after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Igor Souza's late challenge caught a Dois Irmãos F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Souza helped the player get up and apologised. Dois Irmãos F. C. made a substitution. Agnaldo Alvarenga replaced Ezequiel Ramos. In the 55th minute, Igor Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Pinheiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredão de Sena in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Veloso in the 62nd minute of play forced SL Benfica's goalkeeper Isac Cândrea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Dois Irmãos F. C.'s goalkeeper Andrézinho Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredão de Sena. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredão de Sena got free with Andrézinho Pinheiro in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernani Bittencourt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrézinho Pinheiro having to make a save. In the 71st match minute, SL Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuca Luz to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes Dois Irmãos F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo Alvarenga. With a little luck, Dois Irmãos F. C.'s Andrézinho Pinheiro got control of the ball when Alfredão de Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Alfredão de Sena fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SL Benfica's protests and gave Alfredão de Sena a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredão de Sena hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Andrézinho Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho Azevedo in the 92nd minute of the match. Lúcio Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrézinho Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded SL Benfica left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Dois Irmãos F. C..
