After a defensive mix-up in Progresso's zone, Anacleto Uxio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho Simão came out of the goal and Anacleto Uxio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 41 minutes, Martin Maldonado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Progresso and the Los Perros Locos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Progresso getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Martin Maldonado hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Progresso's goalkeeper Adrianinho Simão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martin Maldonado kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Hugo Gaxan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Rufo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

With an all-out effort, Progresso's Camilo Rufo threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martin Maldonado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Adrianinho Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Efrain Fix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Efrain Fix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrianinho Simão having to make a save. Adrianinho Simão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anacleto Uxio went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Efrain Fix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho Simão having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
