In the 10th minute, Blas Lauro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enrique Blasco during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hormiguero's Enrique Blasco got a free kick in the 15th minute. If Jonatan Ignado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes of play, Hormiguero's Blas Lauro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jimeno Mendez was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Flavio Beltran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hormiguero's supporters rose to their feet, but Blas Lauro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimeno Mendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Hormiguero booed when Club Deportivo Almeyda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Jaizki didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Hormiguero's Ceferino Palben to fire away a dangerous shot which Jimeno Mendez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 43rd minute Blas Lauro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimeno Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flavio Beltran was the one to do the kick off. Blas Lauro scored 0-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jimeno Mendez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Almeyda's Jimeno Mendez got control of the ball when Blas Lauro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jimeno Mendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Blasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Almeyda's goalkeeper Jimeno Mendez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas Lauro. In the 68th minute, Hormiguero's Jesus Gartzen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jimeno Mendez. Jimeno Mendez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. After 73 minutes of play Hormiguero's Enrique Blasco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 73 played minutes Hormiguero got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Blasco. After 74 minutes, Aquilino Natanael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hormiguero and the Club Deportivo Almeyda players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Aquilino Natanael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Blas Lauro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
