After 2 minutes of play, Club Atletico Gran Lanús's Jimeno Blasi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Damaso Abancens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jimeno Blasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Damaso Abancens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ludomil Tomiczek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damaso Abancens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Olo in the 10th minute of play. Artemio Olo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damaso Abancens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Blasi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Artemio Olo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico Gran Lanús's supporters rose to their feet, but Artemio Olo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damaso Abancens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damaso Abancens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmacio Oihenarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Jimeno Blasi came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Damaso Abancens could save by the left post. Damaso Abancens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Olo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes Club Atletico Gran Lanús got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Quirze. Damaso Abancens came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atletico Gran Lanús's Jimeno Blasi. But to his dismay, Jimeno Blasi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After having played for 73 minutes, Artemio Olo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Gran Lanús's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Olo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Arnaldo Vergaray fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diablos Rojos FC's protests and gave Arnaldo Vergaray a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th minute, Arnaldo Vergaray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 played minutes Club Atletico Gran Lanús got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Enekoitz. Jimeno Blasi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Damaso Abancens skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 81 minutes into the match, Diablos Rojos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Blasi came free, but Damaso Abancens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Club Atletico Gran Lanús's Valentin Esdras seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valentin Esdras the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Atletico Gran Lanús protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valentin Esdras had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 82 minutes into the game, one of Club Atletico Gran Lanús:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Diablos Rojos FC's goalkeeper Damaso Abancens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 88th minute Ludomil Tomiczek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Abancens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jimeno Blasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Damaso Abancens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match was over Club Atletico Gran Lanús could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Diablos Rojos FC throughout the match.
