The crowd rose to their feet as Virreyes's Elvio Ezkerra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anier Veremundo. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Anier Veremundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Paulin in the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Vasconcelos in the 8th minute of play forced Virreyes's goalkeeper Patricio Napier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14thth minute of the game Armando Benat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Virreyes's Patricio Napier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 14th minute, Cipriano Paulin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute Cipriano Paulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Veremundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Elvio Ezkerra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anier Veremundo. The goal made the score 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Virreyes's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Corderun came free, but Patricio Napier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Virreyes's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Benat came free, but Patricio Napier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armando Benat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32ndth minute of the game Armando Benat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Virreyes's Patricio Napier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Virreyes's Candido Aguilera got a free kick in the 37th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Benat in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patricio Napier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44thth minute of the game Armando Benat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Virreyes's Patricio Napier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elvio Ezkerra was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 48th minute. Virreyes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Armando Benat made the kick off in the second half. Patricio Napier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurinho Vasconcelos in the 53rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Maurinho Vasconcelos took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Patricio Napier to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Vasconcelos in the 57th minute of play forced Virreyes's goalkeeper Patricio Napier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Patricio Napier managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Florida's Armando Benat fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 60th minute of the match, Armando Benat tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Patricio Napier saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Benat in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patricio Napier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Florida's Roque Bartoli got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 82nd minute, Virreyes's Pascual Esiquio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pascual Esiquio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Virreyes protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pascual Esiquio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 83 played minutes Virreyes got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Esiquio. Virreyes's Patricio Napier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Virreyes from getting a goal against them. Cipriano Paulin scored 3-3 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anier Veremundo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Patricio Napier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Benat in the 89th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Armando Benat's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patricio Napier was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Virreyes made a substitution. Guillermo Resto replaced Cipriano Paulin. The Florida supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Florida would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
