Rosario Central's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Theodore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damaso Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute, Patricio Theodore ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damaso Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 23rd minute, Godofredo Chinto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ladislao Jakobe. The goal made the score 1-2. Aristides Chago's late challenge caught a Rosario Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aristides Chago helped the player get up and apologised. river fc's Damaso Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Theodore in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andres Katia in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damaso Domingues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in river fc's zone, Patricio Theodore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Domingues came out of the goal and Patricio Theodore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Robustiano Orland fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored river fc's protests and gave Robustiano Orland a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Theodore in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damaso Domingues saved river fc from getting behind.

After a defensive mix-up in river fc's zone, Patricio Theodore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Domingues came out of the goal and Patricio Theodore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Theodore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damaso Domingues having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Anastasio Danel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andres Katia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Damaso Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clodoveo Cordairo got free with Damaso Domingues in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patricio Theodore who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Damaso Domingues when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Roland Oborski managed to get in a good position for a shot. river fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Roland Oborski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ladislao Jakobe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of river fc booed when Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anibal Gonchan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godofredo Chinto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ladislao Jakobe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godofredo Chinto went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Godofredo Chinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ladislao Jakobe having to interfere. Ladislao Jakobe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Oborski, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. With an all-out effort, Rosario Central's Damaso Domingues threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patricio Theodore, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when river fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Oborski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rosario Central's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
