After a rather tough play, Monteagudo FC's Andres Firmo got a free kick in the 20th minute. Roberto Koldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vladimiro Rutenio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roberto Koldo ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Montay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Rutenio having to interfere. Jesus Papo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Vladimiro Rutenio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severiano Tino in the 44th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

52 minutes into the match, Monteagudo FC's Ulises Christobal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abdi Hunalp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcial Salvidor's late challenge caught a Lavalle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
