Rodrigo Oier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Osoitz having to make a save. After having played for 6 minutes, Fermin Lordi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The player immediately received a yellow card. 27 minutes into the game, Romeo Ermano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Evelio Velasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Feliberto Quirce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newells old Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliberto Quirce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evelio Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to C.A.Tigre getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Lino Munio hit a great ball. Evelio Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Ermano in the 42nd minute. If Romeo Ermano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fermin Lordi to make the kick off. Evelio Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Ermano in the 52nd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, C.A.Tigre's Fermin Lordi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Osoitz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 78 minutes into the match, Anacleto Urti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evelio Velasco. C.A.Tigre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anacleto Urti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 80th match minute, C.A.Tigre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvio Pirmin to maneuver through the defense. Gualterio Jeraldo kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If Anacleto Urti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anacleto Urti might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evelio Velasco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anacleto Urti ran back to his position shaking his head.
