Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Romeo Ermano started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Hugo Björk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Angelo Osoitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Osoitz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaspar Pelagius went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Club Atletico Tucuman's Hugo Björk in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Newells old Boys's goalie prevented a goal. Newells old Boys's Angelo Osoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Björk in the 10th minute of play. When Alfredo Dolcet fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newells old Boys's protests and gave Alfredo Dolcet a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Newells old Boys getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alfredo Dolcet hit a great ball. In the 15th minute Hugo Björk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Osoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Osoitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Pelagius in the 16th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes Club Atletico Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Lander. If Feliberto Quirce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Silvestre Lander hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After 26 minutes, Romeo Ermano made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Club Atletico Tucuman's Lino Petri tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gualterio Jeraldo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Gaspar Pelagius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 32 played minutes Newells old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Dolcet. 45 minutes into the match, Newells old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Pelagius came free, but Angelo Osoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Feliberto Quirce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Björk was the one to do the kick off. Hugo Björk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Angelo Osoitz made a huge save. The corner led Club Atletico Tucuman's Adrian Louis to fire away a dangerous shot which Angelo Osoitz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hugo Björk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 58 played minutes Club Atletico Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Justino Isias. Romeo Ermano might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lino Petri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romeo Ermano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 69th minute, Romeo Ermano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 70 played minutes Newells old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Buinton. Angelo Osoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Pelagius in the 71st minute of play. Hugo Björk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Angelo Osoitz made a huge save. Gaspar Pelagius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute Gaspar Pelagius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Osoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells old Boys's goalkeeper Angelo Osoitz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 94th minute of the match Astor Irrintzi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lino Petri showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Angelo Osoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Pelagius in the 96th minute of play. Club Atletico Tucuman's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
