The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Horacio Indar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Azara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horacio Indar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Saul Regis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Atlético Azara's Alfredo Umea. Alfredo Umea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Haroldo Lastur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Lastur in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Umea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aureliano Quintana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Iraunkor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Lastur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atlético Azara's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Narciso Dantae was slow to take the kick. During this time Amaná's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Narciso Dantae almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atlético Azara's Alfredo Umea did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Haroldo Lastur in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Umea saved Atlético Azara from getting behind. Haroldo Lastur might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Umea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Haroldo Lastur ran back to his position shaking his head. Aureliano Quintana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Iraunkor in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgardo Iraunkor to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Amaná's Saul Regis made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Umea was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Edgardo Iraunkor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético Azara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amaná the free kick.
