The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Danilo Asier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brinkman's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mecoyita the free kick. Danilo Asier kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. When Edelmiro Lon fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mecoyita's protests and gave Edelmiro Lon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mecoyita's Edelmiro Lon got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 9 minutes, Victoriano Arotza made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mecoyita's Vicente Izotz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Brinkman's Silverio Eneko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Artizar in the 14th minute of play. Victoriano Arotza's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Vicente Izotz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 18 minutes, Angel Gutxi made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Brinkman's Silverio Eneko tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Silverio Eneko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Artizar, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After having played for 31 minutes, Angel Gutxi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mecoyita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angel Gutxi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Victoriano Arotza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Izotz having to interfere. Silverio Eneko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Artizar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ladislao Sein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Vicente Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Augusto Salbatore put in a rough tackle. With a little luck, Mecoyita's Vicente Izotz got control of the ball when Victoriano Arotza tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victoriano Arotza to make the kick off. Victoriano Arotza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Vicente Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Brinkman's Melquiades Abancens got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 62nd minute, Benito Txindoki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Brinkman getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Nicasio Txerran hit a great ball. Mecoyita's Leonides Gaskon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Silverio Eneko in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 70 minutes into the match, Brinkman's goalkeeper Silverio Eneko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angel Gutxi. If Victoriano Arotza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonides Gaskon hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victoriano Arotza in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vicente Izotz saved Mecoyita from getting behind. With a little luck, Brinkman's Silverio Eneko got control of the ball when Angel Gutxi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vicente Izotz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victoriano Arotza went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Mecoyita's Vicente Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marciano Eztebe in the 85th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mecoyita's Tadeo Henrico got a free kick in the 88th minute. The audience was convinced that Victoriano Arotza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Izotz was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Eriberto Ofelio's late challenge caught a Mecoyita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eriberto Ofelio helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Brinkman got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Ofelio. Mecoyita's Vicente Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Sein in the 96th minute of play. In the 97th match minute, Mecoyita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloy Mingo to maneuver through the defense. In the 99th minute of the match Gogo Niva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vicente Izotz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Brinkman had played much better football throughout.
