In the 11th minute, Roman Obano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lee Rosen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17th minute of the match, Ivan Fertus got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fernando Mikelats was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Hermengildo Tristan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fernando Mikelats. That made the score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. When Roman Obano came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Tambillo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Obano couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Fernando Mikelats successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lee Rosen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Chayo in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, san alberto hurtado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Paez to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Tambillo AFC's Salvador Senin in action when he in the 33rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! When Javier Sol fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tambillo AFC's protests and gave Javier Sol a yellow card for diving instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roman Obano to strike the kick off in the second half.
